Assistant Buyer, Trunk Shows (Fine Jewellery)

Bristol / Avonmouth HQ | Hybrid working (2–3 days in the office)

Retail buying experience is one thing. Building luxury retail experiences across the world is another.

At Harding+, we don’t operate traditional stores. We create standout retail experiences at sea, working closely with leading cruise lines and premium brand partners to make every cruise better.

We’re looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our Trunk Show team, supporting the Fine Jewellery category. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with buying or commercial experience who wants to step into a fast-moving, global retail environment where no two days look the same.

You’ll help shape luxury jewellery events across an international fleet, working with suppliers, analysing performance, planning launches, and ensuring exceptional execution onboard.

Harding+ has been recognised as Cruise Retailer of the Year in 2022, 2023 and 2025. This is your chance to join a business that is growing, ambitious, and doing retail differently.

    The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional Assistant Buyer role. You’ll play an important part in a specialist commercial team responsible for delivering Fine Jewellery trunk show events across cruise ships worldwide.

Working closely with the Commercial Manager and senior stakeholders, you’ll help drive the day-to-day success of the category, balancing commercial performance, supplier relationships, planning and operational delivery. You’ll be trusted with real responsibility from the start and given the opportunity to build your knowledge in a unique retail environment.

This is a varied role where you’ll combine analysis, coordination and commercial judgement. You’ll use data to spot trends and opportunities, help shape product ranges for different ships and guest profiles, and ensure launches happen smoothly and on time.

You’ll also be highly visible across the business, partnering with teams such as Operations, Marketing, Finance and Customer Services, as well as external suppliers and cruise partners around the world.

Typical areas of focus will include:

    • Supporting supplier relationships and commercial agreements
    • Analysing sales, margin and product performance
    • Assisting with range planning and product launches
    • Managing timelines and critical paths for key activity
    • Coordinating global trunk show logistics and supplier visits
    • Producing reports and insights to support trading decisions

It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys pace, variety and ownership, and wants to develop their buying career in a business where you can make a genuine impact.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Around 2+ years’ experience in a Buying Assistant or similar commercial role
    • Retail, luxury, jewellery, fashion or consumer goods experience would be valuable
    • Strong Excel and reporting skills with confidence working with data
    • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
    • Confident communicator who can build relationships with suppliers and internal teams
    • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Commercially curious with a proactive mindset
    • Comfortable working flexibly with UK and international partners across time zones
    • Positive team player who enjoys working collaboratively
    • Ambitious and keen to grow within a successful business
