About the role:
You’ll be right at the centre of our employee experience, providing hands-on support across a wide range of Employee Relations cases. From our UK and USA hub offices to our shipboard colleagues around the world, you’ll help create a workplace where every team member feels supported and valued.

Based in Avonmouth on a hybrid working basis – 2 days per week
Compensation – competitive salary, bonus scheme, pension, 4 x life assurance, healthcare cash plan, 26 days annual leave(plus the opportunity to buy an additional 5 days)
What you will be doing:
As our new Employee Relations Advisor, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we support our people across the UK, USA, and at sea. You’ll lead the review and development of our HR policies and procedures, making sure they’re legally compliant and in line with best practice.
No day will be the same, from coaching managers through conduct, capability, grievance, and sickness absence cases, to managing ER cases end-to-end with consistency, and professionalism. You’ll oversee medical cases, working closely with occupational health, insurance providers, and managers, while driving our Mental Health First Aid and wellbeing programmes so our teams feel supported wherever they are.
You’ll keep accurate, confidential records, spot trends, and share insights to help us continuously improve and reduce ER risk. You’ll also play a big part in developing manager capability through training, ensuring our ER approach is consistent as well as contributing to projects that make our employee experience even better.
About you:
Proven experience in an employee relations role, managing a wide range of ER cases
Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law (knowledge of USA and Maritime employment practices beneficial)
Experience in policy development and implementation
Strong case management skills with the ability to handle sensitive issues confidentially
Experienced in managing Mental Health and wellbeing programmes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Confident in building relationships and influencing at all levels
High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
Must have an existing right of eligibility to work in the UK
